When we do manage to lock down a session I will try to show restraint as I have built my decks to contend with certain levels of power at the table. I also really like dumb gimmicks as posted above.
You’ll do fine, if anything I am sure you’ll get better. Play enough at a certain level and things will make sense.

yeah the issue for me is that I am uh. very competitive and I hate losing. so I try to avoid exposing myself to stuff where I might lose and get mad about it and make an idiot of myself (e.g., any/all boardgames; MTG with anyone other than my gf)

word, this is why I had to stop playing Splatoon
if anything I’d be down to spectate some games of EDH, just because I love watching MTG as much as playing to be honest. just as long as that’s cool with those involved and it’s not too strenuous for anyone!

This is also why I have failed to be inducted into the game, yeah. It is a little funny that I get dysphoric over being bad at nerd games but I would also like that to stop happening someday please.

I wish I wasn’t this way! like I’m pretty sure it’s tied to the ADHD, like everything else about me LOL. but the most reliable way I’ve found to not get mad is just to not play. :')

MtG is somehow the Only hobby that’s broken that habit, nothing else, so i def sympathize
Still, it’d be cool to hang sometime and chat silly decks :3 and if we do get a couple more folks to play EDH spectators are welcome if and only if they provide golf-style commentary (including polite clapping and “oooh!” when we make plays)

Learning to lose is def a hard one to internalize. Honestly I still kinda have issues how I lose, but in my defense there’s some bullshit out there.

The singles I got were cheap enough I guess minus one bigger card but still at least $10+ cheaper buying the secret lair set secondary and all I lose out on is a token
