Sorry for the update downtime! Here’s a rundown of everything that’s changed.
Upgraded to the new Ubuntu Version
This is important because it’ll just lead to general site stability improvements, meaning fewer 502 errors and easier future updates that don’t take 2 hours and require me to completely change the ubuntu dist URLs. Yippie
Backup changes
Backups are about 1 gig, and we now have 10 gigs on the server. I’ve changed backups to be weekly, but with a limit of 3 backups available at any time. Also, auto-deleting old backups wasn’t a default setting. Thanks discourse :)
AWS Image Hosting
I moved all image uploads to an S3 bucket. This gives us an extra 5 gigs of free image hosting space a year. Please don’t go past this LMFAO.
It also keeps images out of the Discourse backups, so keep pics you want to keep pls.
Dracula has an issue in which the New Topic button is really green and shiny and after years of idle games I have to fight against every intrusive thought to not smash it on sight
The aqua with the off-white on Isabella is really nice. The buttons and like posting elements being rounder will take some getting used to but I like it.
For you, nothing! For me, it’ll make things cheaper LMFAO
The Bad News
I will have to rebake every image ever posted on this website! That’s fine, but y’all have actually posted a lot of images! I can check that LOL. Everything should be solid enough now that the whole website shouldn’t break for two hours, but I’ll be doing that update overnight in America so it can happen while I’m sleeping and I can check for errors afterwards (sorry overseas peeps but i must sleep)
Added the Kanegawa color scheme - thanks to @crow for helping me put it together
you can change color schemes in the same place you change themes. Color schemes are mostly divorced from themes, but for best results use the default theme and apply the color scheme on top of it
Some elements do not appear to have an inherited style (the orange color for “hot” threads, the red for “last visit”) and/or I’m not certain if they’re meant to.
