There’s a big ol SA SA LE LE on idlers rn.
Right now I’m trying One Trillion Free Draws which is a spoof on Gacha. It actually does give some Good Chemicals similarly, though obviously there’s no actual gambling. Its also more active than the usual idler.
However the one thing that I really like about it is the MSPaint design. God, I just love seeing something that clearly has a lot of effort but not a lot of polish to it, even with all the WIPs in later cards.
Meanwhile I’ve started running Incremental Epic Hero 2, and it’s a thing I’ve secretly been wishing for. What if you took one of those dogshit mobile game evil monetization idle RPGs with like 20 progression systems (all of which are just a proxy for spending money) and just made a regular idle game like that.
I’ve been playing it for about three days now and it’s definitely not gonna be for everyone, but for now it looks like it’s for me.
Closest analogue, gameplay loop-wise, is maybe Unnamed Space Idle? But not quite like that. It’s probably worth checking out.
I’ll be into it as soon as I’m done with One Trillion Pulls then, that’s a sales pitch.
Actually giving this a try, and you were not lying about it having like 20 progression systems. Its fairly overwhelming, but its also an idle game so like, you’re not losing anything by not getting stuff right the first time.
The only gripe I’ve had so far is that the Automation upgrades could use a few more red arrows pointing to them, so far I’ve only figure out the ones that require monster taming.
Also had a little bit of an annoying first impression where the game’s menus wouldn’t unlock and I was wondering how I was supposed to click on the “Guild” menu when only the first two were showing up, but a Hard Reset took care of that.
Yeah, it’s very easy to miss good upgrades/options sometimes. Shame about the bug, thankfully didn’t have that happen.
Meanwhile I finally finished all the tutorial missions last night, after a couple days of playing.
