Yooooo that looks sick as hell. Love to personalize fighting gear, I say, never having been in a discipline where that was an option.
Yeah, it would be cool if i could have added custom patches or art to my taekwondo uniform (forgot the korean name)
i understand how its disrespectful to the discipline and can be distracing, but it would be nice.

I just got back from a break I had been having with judo and got right into some sparring! it was a lot of fun and I managed to throw somebody once or twice. my offense is definitely improving but my groundwork still needs a lot of work

I was back in the Academie this week for the first time since my surgery & getting sick. It’s guard form month so we do what is essentially sword yoga. Felt good to have my weapon in hand again.
We did the Meyer Square as a specialty class this month and that’s really fun and great for training edge alignment. I have a blister on my thumb where my grip was rubbing against it now though and it hurts.

every time you post i want to do sword stuff, i wonder if there’s anything in my area. it would be a nice alternative work-out to weight-lifting which can be a little dry sometimes

A lot of the stuff nearby seems Bring Your Own Gear (which. Fair. Stuffs expensive) or an hour away but also Stuff’s Expensive

Finally got to return to tkd class and it was kind of fucking phenomenal. For the usual “work and adulting responsibilities” reasons, I’ve not been able to reliably make it to classes this season. I got ranked up 2 stripes and now they’re waiving my attendance requirement so I can finally test for the orange belt this spring. Also the teacher pivoted the whole class to a Forms extravaganza, which it seemed like everyone needed. Lotta folks got tape on their belts tonight and it feels a bit good to think I contributed to that decision
