Brick-and-mortar shops are just going to vanish, aren’t they, for the companies big enough to just maintain a webfront and a warehouse. Not that it isn’t already happening, but the article just reminded me of it. Browsing will be strictly limited to whatever little independent shops remain.
Small article gripe:
We need Gen Z to save video stores and sections
Man, can we stop this kind of thing? Maybe the author is part of that cohort/it’s meant to be lighthearted or a joke, I don’t know, but it bugs me so much to keep seeing “Gen Z needs to fix this” and “Gen Z needs to save that” when like…there’s a lot of people across lots of age groups who can (and ought to) put in the work too.
i was literally considering a couple weeks ago if i want to start buying movies i like since ive started having a physical comics collection and then i realized id have to import at least half the movies i like from the us and even something as simple as scream 1-3 would be a mismatch of different standard/ugly cover/4k releases with what was easily available from regional online stores. i want the grocery store spinny dvd rack back so bad.
