I’ve had a bottle of root beer for most days in this past week, so now my last couple nights have involved me just craving for more root beer, and being obsessed with the very idea of root beer.

was gone for a couple days, visiting my grandpa
it was a pretty good time. visited a planetarium (the one with the worldwide longest streak of uninterrupted function, in Jena, Germany), a botanical garden (I took a lot of pictures of assorted bois and lads). Long walk through a river valley/forest with a picnic along the way. While I did play a bit on my Steamdeck overall it was a pretty offline/detoxing affair lmao.
mean-spirited stuff
I never really cared for my grandad’s girlfriend, but recently she’s been mentally deteriorating pretty quickly, dementia most likely. Which, and that’s the mean-spirited bit, has made her much more manageable to me. I get much more “reserved stranger-facing politeness” and a lot less of her (before that) usual bullshit.
she did, however, NOT recognize my (trans guy) brother and thought it was some random friend of mine–even though she’s known he transitioned. Guess “a few years ago” it was already too late to become a long-term memory. Anyway, on the final day she blurted out “…and you used to be [deadname]???” so maybe a little bit after all.
Buuuuut even taking that into account I’m super glad I went!!

Nah, it was just frozen. I actually forgot about that one twice; once in the freezer, to get it to nearly explode, and then again in the fridge for a few days. Its mosstly just hard to manage with the way I usually drink cans of soda (idly, over a half hour or so), but it turns out if you grab a second can and flip it upside-down, the bases fit together well enough that it wont fall

Oh my god I just found out why the landlord is coming by tomorrow (she wants to finish fixing the sprinklers since she didn’t get to finish that when she came around last week) and oh my GOD that is a relief, for so many reasons. She was just like “Yeah I’ll be back next saturday, is anyone gonna be home?” and I had no idea why she wanted to come back, it was one of the absolute worst ways to end that encounter with her. But if she isn’t even likely to come inside, then that means I have so much less to worry about
