@Jama Minnesota Nuggets vs Denver Timberwolves

The first two games of the series were exactly what Denver needed to wake themselves up. Got beat the first two games, had nearly 4 days off to let the other series’ catch up, and have beaten the brakes off the Wolves for 3 straight games.

They woke up and remembered that they were the Denver Nuggets and they look scary again.

yo we’re like famous n shit

Open Cup round of 16 baybee, we’ve probably got the easiest possible draw for this round so hopefully we get that win

So, exhaled yet?

Leverkusen winning the league and the DFB-Pokal is really cool. Great to see someone else at the top after that dominant run Bayern had.

God, I can’t believe Ronaldo is still playing for the national team.

FIVE PICKS FOR MIKAEL BRIDGES???

any day your team wins despite playing a man down is a good day

I usually can’t stand futball because i associate it with my dad (LOL) but the games this month have been great. perfect gym-watching too since all the downtime means I can focus on sets and then watch while I’m resting

If you have heard rumors that football obsessives with large foreheads have had to go on the run / into hiding, well, my current vacation may not convince anyone otherwise, but we are in LA to see the open cup tomorrow night. Not sure what we’re going to do for the rest of today though

Holy fuck they’re starting Lloris in goal. I don’t believe it, but clearly they’re looking to win too

Aside from our team being particularly solid this year, our big rivals have had a terrible season at unprecedented levels, with only 3 wins and 3 draws out of now 20 games. Factor in that our team usually has good travelling fan support and they’re our closest opponent, you put on NM United @ El Paso and the sound is mostly us banging our drums and hollering against an increasingly desperate El Paso PA (who is probably getting fined for talking over the game).

But come on. Rudy Gay, then of the Memphis Grizzlies, established the precedent just over a decade ago. When you’re in this situation, asking “Whose house is this??” Buddy, it’s everybody’s house.

Rudy Gobert is so fucking hated by everyone in the NBA

Oh my god the offseason sucks SO MUCH. We fuckin’ NEED UBI to keep these people off mics and cameras during the offseason so I don’t have to hear dumb shit about how Jock Landale is a Real (contributing) NBA player or how If only Amen Thompson becomes the 3 point shooter we want him to be (He shot 13.8% from 3 last year, league average is like, 34-35%) the Rockets could be a lock for the playoffs.

I’m starting up Buttondown, and I’ve just finished my first soccer effortpost. It’s a bit long, mostly highlighting the first UCL match week and significant rivalry matches.

ESPN laid off Zach Lowe???

Farewell KAT. I guess now I have to hope for the Knicks success, because you deserve some nice shit after the first 5-6 years of your career were godawful due to things outside your control.

Between 2015-2020, had like, 5 coaches, 4 GMs, including one fired for sleeping with another front office worker’s wife. Lost a bunch of family to COVID, Jimmy Butler happened…

Edit: Sometimes the 2500 word post on someone’s career is just for you but I’ll share

I really like the way you write, I don’t know much about the subject and I read the whole thing. I think your writing is really approachable and makes things easy to engage with from a beginner viewpoint, while still making it clear what the stakes are for you in a way it feels like other buffs would also understand and enjoy. I did not know this man before but now I wish him well, o7

Thank you.

Breaking things down into smaller, easier to digest, parts is one of the few writing skills I have lmao.
