Houshouryuu lost another bout in day 5, and this time to rank and file #2 wrestler chiyoshouma. This means chiyoshouma will get a kinboshi which guarantees him 40k yen for every future tounament he competes in while he’s in the top two ranks.
It was a really exciting match. Chiyoshouma attacked from a weird angle cuz he knew he couldnt win head on. His initial gambit didnt work, but he was able to hang in there and eventually push the yokozuna out.

Sumo this month is sooo damn good. One of my favorite wrestlers Takayasu has a good winning record, and i just saw someone lose because the guy they were about to push out did a spin move.
Damn this is such a hype ass sport.
Unfortunately, new Yokozuna Houshouryuu dropped out from the tournament. No clue why so far. Maybe the loses were getting to him, maybe it’s cuz he lost some money losing to maegashira wrestlers. Either way his haters are eating good this month.

I feel like i say this all the time but Sumo is SOOOO good this month. I cant wait for this tournament to end so i can be nornal till May.
My favorite guy takayasu is on track to win the championship, but he’s tied with Onosato. If both of them manage to not drop a match there may be a tiebreaker or something.
