Frieren is really good, as much as I was =/ during the second half - which was good, but a very different type of good

I read the manga for Freiren last year, and while I really really liked parts of it, other parts were more grating, and it sorta lost me (real quick while I check)… fifty chapters in? Hot damn, earlier than I expected, I thought it was more like a hundred. Part of it was probably just expectations (I didn’t realize it was gonna be split between slower, more melancholy stuff while the group travels vs more action-y, sorta battle shounen stuff once they settle down for a bit longer), but the more action-y stuff ended up just really really not being my jam regardless, and the first two full arcs of that were both just… really really frustrating, for completely different reasons. It actually sorta warded me away from Dungeon Meshi for a bit, because I hadn’t started it yet and the two seemed to be talked about together a lot, as like, “the two really good manga that put a neat spin on generic fantasy settings by examining them with a more detailed view at the world from an uncommon perspective”

So I decided to finally watch anime again and going down the list of series I been meaning to watch for years.
Anyway started watching Visions of Escaflowne realizing I was getting it mixed up with Aura Battler Dunbine
So I guess I’ll just watch Escaflowne and then move on to Dunbine after. That seems like the proper course of action

Summary
i get why they did it but i’m never gonna root for the white man to pick the white woman over the nonwhite woman LIKE i get it narratively but i’m just angry. maybe more so that i can’t keep this damn show out my head cause i fucks with helly r (even though i’m pretty sure that’s helena)! and i really just wanted gemma out of there! but it feels gross for me especially since they don’t really dive much deeper into the antiblackness and racism already in it but then i’m like it’s ten episodes and the white people are definitely the main characters so what do i expect

I caught that Looney Tunes movie last night at the theater in hopes of catching it before it’s gone. This had like 0 marketing and showings appeared to have dwindled only a week later (probably to make room for Disney’s Snow White 
)
I didn’t love it as much as my friend who saw it, but found it alright and an enjoyable experience.
This has an audience and something special we don’t see too often. I just hate how movie tickets are so expensive now and something like this will live or die by that ( or none of that matters knowing WB)

Absolutely have gotten into martial arts films and hella HK cinema in recent years. Discovered Johnnie To as a new favorite director.
Sadly the Battle Royale rewatch is on hold as the disc was cracked just returned it to the library and made them aware.
