California’s new law forces digital stores to admit you’re just licensing

I really wonder what effect, if any, this’ll have. Being more transparent is good but like… just saying “you don’t own this” doesn’t materially change anything?

As a non-american, every time I hear about a California law and why companies choose to not to operate there, its because they’re doing what isn’t even the bare minimum, but rather not withholding information or saying the quiet part out loud. Of course its going to be unattractive to corporations, and the people who are against regulations are usually the ones deepthroating boots.

If you’re going to be pro-consumer, you have to be anti-business, there’s no middle ground.

Another recent California W, they’re going after exxon too for their long and false campaign promoting recycling as a viable solution to climate change

This is Colorado too they recently made it so that you have to reveal wage ranges in job applications and a bunch of jobs ended up saying that coloradins can’t apply lmfao
