Hey! Tell us who you are!

hey, it’s hannah AKA A New Low from cohost. I have next to no Genuine Forum Posting experience but I’m interested!

hey all :heartpulse: @listeninggarden here and on cohost, been on too many forums to count and happy to have another to be on again since they’ve sadly fallen out of vogue! i had an idle thought a couple of weeks ago to open up a forum, so i’m glad mint followed the urge and brought us auldnoir :3

i love weird women, weird games, and weird music. i even make my own weird music as our dear friend, the medic. exploring various genres and micromovements that have inspired me over the years. i also play way too much final fantasy xiv, and spend even more time working on digital photography from the game than i play it

regretfully never got to play the gravity rush games but i have admired them from afar as a fan of keiichiro toyama’s work on silent hill 1 and the forbidden siren series. and also because the girls are cute as heck. god i love women

Hi; I’m Saya. Same name on Cohost.

Most of my forum experience boils down to two bits:

  • one Finnish single-dev indie studio’s from the 00s forum (Monkkonen; responsible for Notrium and Driftmoon); I’m still kind of friends with most of the regulars from there, and that’s also where I mostly learned actually speaking English? I found some really old posts of mine a couple years ago and wondered how anybody got what I was trying to say back then lmao;
  • trying to create a Polish phpBB fan forum for the German indiejank game series Clonk; and stumbling at the problem of anybody knowing it (or the games) exist.

As is probably clear I love video games lol; and I’ve been trying to wean myself off music streaming and replace it with directly supporting artists. I used to watch a bunch of anime in the past, but now it’s slowed down a lot (I think I’ve watched three shows over the past 4 years–Paripi Koumei, Frieren and a rewatch of Azumanga Daioh). I do programming too.

Extremely computer-bound, overall; but I’ve been trying to touch grass more and even went to my first metal concert a while ago!

…also, Gravity Rush 2 seems to be getting a remaster, including a PC port.

hi hello, my name is Andie or miniglitch on Cohost. I do gamedev both professionally and as a hobby, and dabble in music and graphic design. Very glad there’s been a renewed interest in the forum format, I’ve always greatly preferred it to stuff like tumblr or twitter

Praying the Gravity Rush 2 rumor is true

I’m the-doomed-posts-of-muteKi on cohost. I just wrote a 7000 word essay on Otherside Picnic, then proceeded to actually read the Otherside Picnic manga scanlations – and now that I’m done with that I should try the light novels.

I like making music, and near the end of last year finished up a project I called Hedgehog Masque Replica, an attempt to make new past music to fit Sonic CD’s US soundtrack, inspired by the Manfred Mann’s Earth Band album Masque. I’m allergic to DAWs so all the music I make is with trackers, or the occasional basic MIDI file.

I’m also going through my nearly 20 years of composition and arrangement (hobby) work and talking about it on a series I’ve been calling VGM Vault.

Hi, I’m @sharksonaplane on Cohost (and formerly birdsite), also known as Sharkaeopteryx on Twitch and Guilded, but please feel free to call me Shark! (she/her)

I like talking about language-learning, teaching, foods, and idk, a bunch of other stuff I can never remember when writing posts like this ^^ it took me an entire day to decide which username to use, i am a menace

I normally either switch from game to game (or not having the energy to play any games at all :sob:), but recently I’ve been on a Pokémon Unite kick.

I haven’t really participated in forums much in the past, but there are cool people here so hey, no time like the present! :wave:t3:

Hello, I’m R.R.Roberts, “@Roberts” and “@mistakenbigfoot” on cohost. Hobbies include reading (scifi, mysticism, cognitive science, horror, manga), video games, yoyoing and I have perma DM brain though I haven’t played a multiplayer ttrpg in a while. Currently learning to flip balisong and trying to practice writing more. I’ve lurked a variety of anime/manga/games forums in my time but didn’t start regularly visiting and using until ~2021 when I started yoyoing. Fun fact, the creator of Discourse, who co-created stack overflow, is a yoyoer. The one big English yoyo forum we all use runs on discourse and that familiarity with the platform is part of why I decided to give this a shot.

I love Gravity Rush! Never finished it but plan on replaying on vita, sad 2 never came to it the vita rules. Kat’s powers are top 5 favourite superpowers.

Call me Ria(It’s easier to pronounce). I’m an enby trans woman approaching middle age. Disabled, poor, communist.

My forum experience is a wide variety of forums I bounced around for quite a few years before mostly giving up forums in 2016.

Hey there! I’m Robin (or Rose if ya nasty j/k j/k, but seriously either is fine!). I’m robinthebun on cohost. I’m a PhD candidate and teacher. I have pretty little experience with forums; I was on the Megaran forums wayyyyyy back, an RP server around the same time and then a previous forum.

I play (but rarely beat) a lot of video games. You might’ve seen me write a few things on Mint’s garden. I also obsess over my OCs and like to draw. I harbor aspirations of one day writing something more than a lengthy essay.

Hi! Thank you for creating this board Mint, I’m excited to be here.

I’m makku, I also post art under the handle AbstractCactus. Currently the only other website I exist on is Cohost, for now, but I also have a dinky little NeoCities gallery that I relearned basic html and css to assemble and I felt very proud of myself. I like cats, the color purple and tea.

I spent my earliest years on the internet on Swedish fansites run by fellow kids, making friends and roleplaying in the very active guestbooks of different people. Once I got a (nowhere near good enough) grasp of English I started joining every message board I could find, mostly settling in Sonic and sprite comic-centered forums. Later down the line I was an early adopter of both Twitter and Tumblr, as at the time I was engaged in various fandom communities that thrived in those spaces. Nowadays fandoms disinterest and greatly intimidate me, I hate the focus on consumerism and tying of identities to products. I’ve become a very reserved and private person in recent years, having stopped using Twitter and Tumblr long ago, and I’m not really active in any Discord servers. I’ve always been more of a lurker than a poster by habit, but recently I’ve found that I have such little confidence in making posts or responses to people. I’ve been wanting to make an active effort to connect with others more, and I really yearn for the old forum days.

I must admit… I’ve never played either Gravity Rush game. They’ve always interested me, but I don’t own a Vita or a PS4. :pensive:

Heya, I’m coffeentacos. You may have seen me on cohost a while ago but my usage of it dropped off. Same username practically everywhere else.

My pronouns are he/him, in my late 30s, and have been around various parts of the internet since visiting Sonic fan sites in the 90s to download midi tunes.

Currently a student, finishing off a program for a career shift to library sciences, which has been great. I’ve been working in a library for a year now, and also been learning Japanese on the side, something I’ve wanted to do since I was 7.

I play a lot of video games, kind of all over the place depending on what I find interesting. I’ve got a leaning towards STGs, vs puzzlers, RPGs, and fighters but am not limited to them. In the last year I’ve also been putting more time into improving my mahjong game, which has been a lot of fun.

Gravity Rush 1/2 are games I’ve had stuck in my head since I first played 1 at a demo kiosk, then finally got to when it released on PS4, then promptly played 2 after that.

I’m Scampir. I’m the mind behind @Making-up-Mech-Pilots on Cohost. I also posted and shared a lot of ttrpg chosts on cohost. Before that I was mostly on Discord on a Friends at the Table fan server, and an LFG discord server that spun off of the fan server called Roll + Bond. I’m really interested in contributing to any ttrpg discussion on this forum!

Hello, I’m Trashboat (A username I adopted circa 2017-18)

I mostly occupy myself with fighting and puzzle games, but I’m also trying to work through a backlog of RPGs. (working on Greedfall and Star Ocean 4 atm).
I wasn’t a huge forum person except for some of the ones for online games i frequented. I played multiple games under the usernames Menuci and Kyzuken, but if anyone recognizes me it may be from my 7 years of Rumble Fighter. (RIP OGplanet)

looking forward to hanging out here. I made a few forum acounts in the past few years.

  1. forums for Supercombo.gg (new SRK forums for fgc oldheads)
  2. a nostalgic vaporwave themed forum called agora road, but it seemed to get a little fashy last time i chedk and i haven’t been back since.

eithre way. looking forward to occasionally being on the forum.

Rumble Fighter is an unreal callback that blitzed me to 2000 years ago…

I was talking about it with a friend and it made me think about how even toxic spaces can be beloved if they were important enough. Like looking back Rumble Fighter was probably one of the worst cesspits I spent alot of time in, but there have been some good connections and people I met through there. and the game was fun. I may play it on steam one of these days.

Howdy, my name’s Loz (cheeseburgerbuan on cohost)! I draw and stream games sometimes and am an avid bnuuy and burger enthusiast. I do some figure collecting as a hobby because I love having lil versions of my favorite characters on my desktop and enjoy the occasional Gunpla.

My last forum was Serebii’s forums back in the early 2000s when I was in high school LOL I gotta re-learn how to forum, it’s been a hot minute. Nice meeting y’all o/

(Dave) I’m from the Scoliwings - ve have an account on cohost, tumblr, as well as our own neocities site that ve’ve been setting up for a while to import all our posts into. Ve’re deaf, plural, autistic, queer animators and sink our fangs into all sorts of artforms.

It’s been a long time since ve were last on a forum, so I hope this works out and you all seem like nice people.

Hi there!

I’m Steven, he/him, LaLaLacuna on most platforms. Been on a couple different forums since high school, was on Spacebattles for a while. Have an account on cohost, but I’ve basically never used it.

I’m AuDHD, trying to get back into creative writing, and wrapping up an overly large gaming backlog. Will I succeed? Who knows!

I have played both Gravity Rush games, finished the second one little under a month ago. Flippin’ phenomenal! Just gave the Pleasure Quarter soundtrack a quick listen.
