Question: What are the coloured bars between the bottom and top halves of the screen? I talked to the information gal about everything but nothing registered that would explain it:
that’s status buildup! when it reaches 100% you will be poisoned (green) or paralysed (yellow) or sleeped (blue). statuses have no effect outside of battle.

re: fish, there’s an exchange for them in the desert area.

No longer regretting my medium difficulty choice.
Feels so good I am blasting through zones. Just needed more support. The game just gets better as systems unlock.
Killed my first kitsune, felt good to get the runback. Hella XP and a ninetail that’ll undoubtedly be important for crafting later.

If you’re fast enough you can remove a second gem (or maybe more?) before the first one falls all the way and effectively get a free move and it opens up more options. For instance I’ve turned
o-o–
-o-oo
into a five-in-a-row doing this.
No idea if it’s a bug or a feature!
E: or something like that… I don’t remember exactly what the setup was but for some reason I had do do both gems at once, and it actually worked out that I could do it like that if I was fast enough

On some Tetris Attack/Puyo Puyo style nonsense with that one
it’s purposeful, you can sneak more moves into a chain BUT the monsters still move up the timeline when you do this. UNLESS you break them, which is a big strat for me. then you can set up as many moves as you want and let it all cascade

Never got that Vampire rematch but I absolutely blasted a Demon in a fight I had no right winning.
Will forever be chasing that high.

Maybe I should see about engaging those stronger monsters. Been avoiding them since that one bad encounter with a kitsune
