Suggestions for multiplayer SNES games?

Im hosting a video game event next month. I’m using a snes classic to run the event and wanted suggestions for fun stuff i could have the pateons play.

Games can be about any genre with only two restrictions

  • has to be family friendly
  • nothing too long (specifically thinking of multiplayer rpgs like the mana games. Beat em ups are probably fine)

I may not add everything, but i figured folks would have some oddball suggestions.

Metal Warriors has a PvP mode

Captain Commando was a game me and my cousins would co-op frequently

Pretty Soldier Sailer Moon R

It’s not on SNES Classic, but Turtles In Time is elite

Donkey Kong Country has a co op and a competitive mode that’s decent. If you don’t care about difficulty, Super Contra could probably work.

I have a modded classic so i can add games to it at will.

I had no idea what a SNES Classic was, I just thought he meant a physical console (made from Raspberry PI or something?)

it’s a nintendo rerelease from a few years back that came with a collection of games but also if you mod you get very good SNES (and other) emulation :+1:t5:

I have thought of doing a pi project, but now im putting that energy towards making a MiSTer (hardware emulator) Instead.

OH yea, I remember now, they did some vanity projects like that, I think eventually even a PSX Classic? Which is somewhat fun, but also no way most folks wouldn’t buy on the hopes of modding/hacking it

Not sure if Wild Guns counts as family friendly, but it’s a good time.

Other ideas:

  • The Lost Vikings
  • NBA Jam
  • Tetris Battle Gaiden (JP only as far as I know, you’d have to figure out the menus)
  • Kirby Super Star, Kirby’s Dream Land 3
  • Pocky and Rocky

NBA Jam is a SOLID choice that shit is a riot

I might have a few suggestions!

Seconding this and also recommending the jank fighting game Sailor Moon S

Fire Power 2000 - a shmup that does some interesting things, biggest being asynchronous control between P1 and P2. Where P1 operates a tank on land and needs to navigate around obstacles while P2 gets a helicopter that flies over obstacles but vulnerable to collision with flying enemies

Kirby’s Avalanche - Who doesn’t like Puyo Puyo?

Small children apparently.

I’ll thought mint was talking about the fighting game, but i can try both of them.

Hosted abother game event. Only had one young girl come by, but she had fun with a few of the new games i added.

She played (afaik)

Capt Commando
Pac-Attack
Super Punch Out
Biker Mice from Mars
Nba Jam
Clay Fighter TE.

I didnt add everything that was mentioned in this thread, but ill add some of them for next time to have a wider availability of stuff for the next time i do this at the end of the month.
