went off on another one of my lgbt wiki deep dives. I don’t believe in queer pigeonholing for everyone, or that labels are something a person should have to use, but I do enjoy reading about the different experiences people have attempted to categorise and I like looking at the flags.

thinking a lot today about how, as a teen, I was very invested in the different categories the Greeks had for love and how most of them were not connected in any way to sex. I used to say yellow roses were my favourite because they were the friendship rose. it’s funny to look back and see that that was a very neurodivergent aro/acespec person trying to ‘get to the bottom’ of something without having the words for it.

saw a deer on the highway on my bike ride home from work :open_mouth: thankfully it was during a lull in traffic, and the one car that did get close-ish slowed down considerably. but it was just casually strolling over the road, jumped clean from standing still over the 1m rock wall that divides the lanes, and trotted to the other side into the woods.

The first gamer president might be a while away, but the first gamer VP is here

He regaled players with stories they found unusually relatable, like the time his wife had seized his Dreamcast, the Sega video game console, because he had been playing to excess.

I need someone to risk their career and ask Tim Waltz his favorite Dreamcast games

went out for a walk around my apartment complex, was gonna go sit down and journal but ended up running into a neighbor and hung out with him for a bit. we cloudwatched and he showed me some pictures of herons he took around the complex last week, which were really cool. it was nice! he’s an older guy (i think in his 70s), kind of eccentric, always kind and a pleasure to run into.

we do always feel a bit awkward with him just because we’re bad at smalltalk and pleasantries, but we like catching up and being able to get on a nature appreciation wavelength with him

I was coming home from the open floor sparring tonight and there’s an anime con and an olivia rodrigo concert tonight so the train was full of teens who changed into party clothes at a friends house because their parents won’t let them wear these clothes, titty cosplayers, regular cosplayers, and anime nerds. I love public transit.

Narrat! It’s got enough chew to it that I can like, properly add actual mechanics. The jam version of it that comprises the first part is here (needs cleaning up, part of what I wanted to do was add a proper combat UI so you’d have a better idea what was going on, but it’s playable and gets to a reasonable stopping point).
