hm. wish I could say I was surprised (or even particularly bummed out). glad I kind of emotionally distanced myself from it a while ago now. and yeah I am probably going to be shilling auldnoir too LOL

Corny as it is to admit, being on this site changed me a fair amount, helping me come to better terms with who I really am. And while Iām in a similar boat as Crow in emotionally distancing myself from it lately, it nonetheless feels like the end of an era for me.

writing has been on the wall for most of the siteās existence and now that its finally happening i dont know if i even have any particular emotion about it. had countless issues with that siteās management and over the years the groups of ghoulish users on there have made me feel a lot of stress and anxiety, but it wouldve been nice for the couple normal people posting interesting things i found on there if the website couldve continued functioning and improving and it sucks for them.

Man, picked a great week to work on my neocities. Honestly ill miss it. For all its fault, its no worse than anything else mainstream. I do hate it closed down with the racism stuff never getting resolved, but maybe thatās just a result of the internet being anglocentric and cohost manifested that in a unique way.
As someone mentioned, it was a very good domino on the way to meeting a bunch of cool folks. Iāll miss it. Hopefully someone tries something similar again cuz i still see the vision.
