Unity has eliminated its controversial runtime fee

A year later after everyone has already given up on it as a platform. NICE! :+1:t5:

Good for all the people that are locked in, due to like an ongoing project or something.

I still wouldn’t recommend anybody start new projects with it lmao

LITERALLY hasn’t it been a full year since they announced this in the first place and made everyone jump ship? Good for the people who were too far into projects to pivot yeah but everyone who could has already pivoted and they’re not coming back my guys it’s too late.

Some people will pivot back, or if they were on a project they might stick with it for the next one. But yeah this is WAY too late haha.

I think when they saw major players advocating for or donating to Godot they realized they kinda fucked up, lmao

Ok, I didn’t realize, but apparently what happened is that they brought in a new CEO who proceeded to fire all the executives behind the runtime fee.
