Putting it all in one spot just so it doesn’t seep out elsewhere.
I am going to keep a VERY close eye on this thread so please be normal. I don’t worry about anyone’s politics but I do worry about things getting out of hand. Don’t let this be a discord vent channel and we should be good.
didn’t vote ahead of time And forgot to request the day off so I’ll be getting up at ass o’clock to go vote, then going to work, and THEN going home and getting wasted so I don’t have to think abt it
im just mad at my inbox for the past month and a half like where is this energy for literally every injustice that has come before and will continue regardless of the election results
My workplace also gave me the day off; it’s a state university-run place so idk how long that’s been a thing for.
We’re wrangling our way through same-day voter registration *and* a recent name change we don’t have ID for yet, because of Poor Timing. Truly clownshoes levels of paperwork we will be bringing to the local offices today.
I am going to be in dragon quest or cassette beats or fighting game mode tomorrow night so I don’t have to look at anything. I will probably also hide this thread at some point for my own sanity lmao
I’m going to try to not be refreshing results uhhhhh most of the night anyway. (Will probably be posting through it at least a little around midnight when some states are locked in tbh. But it’s unlikely we’ll know what the fuck for a bit if 2020 was any indication.)
I skipped watching results in 2020 from what I remember unless I just kept an eye on the map as I did other things. This year I’ve decided I do want to get with a friend and watch the train wreck.
Honestly some recovery hangouts with IRL folks are probably worth planning. It has just occurred to me that SFF book club this month will be this Wednesday. I don’t know if they’ll actually be meeting, even. But worth trying. We’ve missed them two months running now
Honestly reading this thread makes me glad we’ll have work tomorrow to distract us rip
Though did take Wednesday off for unrelated personal reasons anyway; our sense of time is kinda bad so we uh. Forgot. It was election season.
wired: how do left-wing candidates and third-parties do? (the answer will be incredibly poorly unless they’re DSA affiliated)
this is what i will be spending all of tomorrow tracking, and you can follow along over yonder since my sheet is public (ignore the embed saying it isn’t, Google sucks):
