What are you playing?

Elden Ring on the steamdeck, Kenshi on desktop. Mostly trying not to commit to any non-podcast game until Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes out.

I played this a lot on my deck during my work trip last week, it works shockingly well! Set it to low and it runs at a pretty stable 60FPS and everything. Granted it eats the battery but I was plugged into an outlet at my hotel usually anyways

actually i’m not playing DBFZ on Tuesday let’s play Helldivers instead LOL

Hell yea thatll be fun also does it just leave my deleted bit up LOL

if that ever happens just flag it and i can delete it entirely :+1:t5:

Yeah, it absolutely murders the battery life. This is mostly beneficial in the long run, forces me to do something else after awhile.

I spent a bunch of time on Last Epoch recently. As far as ARPG goes, I think it’s a good middle step between Diablo 3 (you cannot convince me there have been any Diablo games since), and Path of Exile. It’s still a bit jank, and there were huge server load issues at launch, but those were mostly fixed by now. There’s a good degree of build customization, but it’s not so overwhelming you need to rely on guides.

Finally gave Caves of Qud another go, and this time it got me. Part of it is that I’m doing Roleplay mode, instead of Classic. The latter is classic roguelike permadeath; the former lets you create permanent saves in (safe) settlements. It’s simply too big a game to be starting over from scratch every time…

Now that I’m playing it for real, I must say: It is insanely good. It’s so, so good. If you have any affinity with traditional roguelikes at a all, you owe it to yourself to play it. The web of possible interactions is truly staggering, there’s so much to find, figure out, and learn. It’s very much a full RPG, presented as a traditional roguelike. Also I’m a birdperson with a rifle and two knives that’s learned how to meditate from an albino ape, and that last bit is not backstory.

Since I’m on a traditional roguelike streak, I’m also trying to get into Elona again, albeit at a much lesser pace (again, CoQ is v good).

That aside, the last other game I did was Granblue Fantasy: Relink. It was very fun to go through the endgame grind with a full group of friends, and we’re intending to go back once Lucillius drops later this month.

I’m glad last epoch is good - apparently I bought it at some point. No idea when lmao. But at least I can get my money’s worth it sounds like.

I still need to clear the rest of Relink’s endgame. Kinda irritated they chose to launch it at such a busy period of the year lol

I tend to juggle a bunch of games but rarely is it mostly all Pokemon.

I have finally found the will to put Balatro down as I am at a point I need to play higher difficulty chips to progress.

As stated previously I have been juggling 3 various Pokemon titles:

  • Replaying Y after the Legends announcement and I seem to blank on what Pokemon come from Gen 6 during my daily games (Squirdle, Pokedle, and the like)

  • Picked up Pokemon TCG GB2 on a whim for something to play on my phone during slow points at work

  • Trying once again to clear Stadium 2 mostly on the weekends as the N64 MiSTer core is very playable now and I got adapters that let me use my OEM controllers and Transfer Pak

Wife has been playing 7 Rebirth so I have been watching them play most nights and patiently waiting for my turn on the Xbox PS5 and get to drown in LAD Infinite Wealth

Bit slow to start like most card games but absolutely expanded from what the original offered. And despite having a larger selection of cards I still somehow defaulted to making the same haymaker deck.

This only makes me want to experiment with more card game games.

Have you decided who you’re going to marry yet? I’ve been committed to Nami ever since the original game, but I was so happy to finally get to marry her as a girl. Her aloof nature kind of slowly drew me in.

I’ve been playing Paleo Pines lately, which is a farming sim with dinosaurs. The big twist to the farming sim formula is that instead of being analogous to ranch animals, the dinosaurs are essentially replacements for your tools. You don’t upgrade your tools, instead you befriend dinos to do your farming tasks more efficiently. There are lots of different dinos and they all have different colors and patterns, some of which are very rare, so there’s an element of “shiny hunting,” too.

There are definitely some rough spots to the game, and I don’t think I can recommend it if you’d be in it just for the farming. But if you love dinos… it’s so good.

I ended up marrying Nami!
In the original I think I married Molly. I’m at year 3 (about to get to year 4 ) and I’m so glad I can marry the girls and play as a girl myself :sob:Thank u Marvelous

Wait this looks adorable…

I need to finish Harvestella before I play any more farming adjacent games, I was having a blast with it but I’ve been caught up with so many other games and it’s kinda slow paced so I lose focus on it quite quickly

I played the Paleo Pines demo! It is SO CUTE and the dino designs are great (some of them have feathers!). Unfortunately the farm sim stuff is not for me but the dino aspect is SO GOOD I still have it on my wishlist regardless, lol

As seen in the game art, it features a parasaurolophus, which there are clips of me struggling to pronounce ^^ (edit: no longer censoring for self-promo, thanks mint :joy:) on my Twitch

Love me some Miku, Mirai on the 3DS was my obsession when it came out that year

I’m happy palworld has been such a success! I usually wait until those kinds of games are more “finished” before I play them but I look forward to doing that for this one
