My partner Daikon played through the prologue/demo of YOUNG TEAM SOUNDS. The demo is short and Japanese-only, but the visuals are amazing.
We also got to interview Hajime Kasai, the creative lead at POST COMMERCIALS: ALLIANCE and freelance games/media writer. I learned a lot translating this, they sure know their stuff:
And this is not entirely related, but I noticed that the annual Tyrano Game Fes is currently accepting applications for this year’s virtual expo. It’s free to apply and to check out, and it’s imho a neat way to explore the different games on Novel Game Collection. The fes is for games made in Tyrano Script and Tyrano Builder, free tools to make visual novels. Unfortunately I think the documentation is all in Japanese, but if you can read, it looks like a neat way to make a game!
Wow, the visuals on this game are amazing. Super interesting interview too about their influences, their thoughts on art as violence and the shoutouts to other small indies from around the world, Neyasnoe looks really cool. Great work as always!
Great read, Renkon. I was really drawn to Kasai’s discussion about creativity and what inherent value (as in, good, bad, or neutral, or pure/impure) the act of creation might embody. Lots to chew on.
Thanks for reading!! And yeah, I thought their answers were really interesting, really looking forward to the full release of YOUNG TEAM SOUNDS, though it sounds like it’s on the backburner for now ahaha…
