She does this so often. To the point that last year my wife made a decoy laptop out of cardboard.
Which, and this is the best part, actually worked? Like she still prefers to loaf at my laptop, but if I provided the decoy and scoot her off of mine, she would actually walk over to sit there instead. Even after I closed my laptop and put it away.
It got badly stained by soda and thrown out in the move, so we’ll need to make a replacement. But it’s so funny to me that our businesswoman also likes laptops.

i wish i had a real desk so i could try this with patches. I think it’d be a hit cause as anyone who’s been on a voice call w/me knows, he loves to be on the laptop

I don’t have a desk either, I just do all my laptop stuff in bed (which is so profoundly not good for my back riplmao). The cardboard laptop got placed off to the right. Though if whatever surface you’re using doesn’t have enough space, mayhaps putting it on the ground nearby will be an option.

I tried putting something next to the makeshift desk for him to sit on and he didn’t take to it 
picky cat. Alas.
Rocket Raccoon doesn’t look like a cat to me so much as she does one of those memetic fuzzball comic creatures. A ball of floof that has eyes. Umaru-chan as a cat.
