Since I’m off work right now I banged out two gunpla kits in a row this week, an HG Rozen Zulu (episode 6 exclusive clear version) and an RG Epyon. The Epyon was actually my first RG, I haven’t been super interested in RGs because I don’t like that they’re small 1/144s, and after finishing him I think I haven’t changed my mind, especially when it comes to how annoying those tiny stickers were to work with. BUT it was a really cool build, he looks amazing and the detail and flexibility really is impressive. It’s crazy that his tail/whip just came complete as a whole piece in the runner with two colors and joints and twist points all along it. I probably won’t do many more RGs in the future but I do admit the Sazabi looks tempting, especially its clear variation that a friend has been building while we’ve been on calls this week. I’ve just gotten really interested in clear kits recently, this Rozen Zulu just looks amazing. Love the see-through gameboy aesthetic.
I have an MG Double X and a Crossframe Girl Dark Magician Girl sitting in my backlog, I’m hoping to at least get the Dark Magician Girl done soon because she just looks soooo cute. :) She’s actually my first non-gunpla kit, I’ve realized I really wanna branch out more, maybe finally bite the bullet on a Digimon Figure-rise. I’ve held back because they haven’t really done any of my number 1 favorites yet but the Metalgreymon just looks so cool. If I like the build on Dark Magician Girl I might look into Kotobukiya’s Megaman kits too.
Share your builds and collections of any kind! Gunpla, Lego, Nanoblock, any type of fun little guy you’ve built that you’re proud of. Regular statues and action figures and such is fine to post as well.
Bought a few Lego sets with some birthday money. Last night, we built the Technic model of the Perseverence rover! It was a lot more complex than expected, and sadly didn’t have any of the internal stuff we were interested in (like models of analytical instruments and stuff) but it was still a very satisfying build. Over the weekend, we’ve got an even bigger set to tackle, but I think we’ll take it slower - hyper-focusing on building this one in one evening took a toll on us lol.
Ohhh wow! Shame about the lack of internal detail but it looks amazing, I love it.
My problem with Digimon Figure-Rise is that they just make all the cool guy Digimon and I’m more of a cute and monster Digimon liker… If they every did anything from the Palmon line I’d be on it in a heartbeat. They’ve made an Angemon why can’t they make any of the cute or sexy girl Digimon! But I do really love the look of the Metalgreymon and he definitely appeals more to my cute monster sensibilities so it’s very likely I’ll grab that one at some point.
It had plenty of internal parts dedicated to making the wheels steer properly, lots of interesting gearboxes, as well as two axles to adjust the angle and pitch of the drill arm. All very cool stuff, so I’m not too upset that they couldn’t fit more.
I got into the hobby earlier this year, and have built over a dozen kits since then. Here’s a post with some pics from my first RG: @lariria.bsky.social on Bluesky
I’ll have to take a decent pic! I currently have six and another couple coming on pre-order, but most of them are still in the box cause I don’t have a dedicated space for em haha
I’ll take a proper picture of my Nendoroids later but here’s a very old photo I took of the Journey statue that Sony sold ages and ages ago. One of my most beloved treasures, honestly.
VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship technic set.
I have no experience building Lego mechs, except for that one weird thing probably 15-20 years ago when they tried to make Lego mech anime work, but I really wanna incorporate these design elements into a mech design somehow. It’s just begging for it. This thing wants to be a mech so bad.
Sorry, misleading phrasing - a series(?) of anime-style mech kits. I was like 10 or something at the time so I don’t remember much, but I remember there was a white mech that had a light-up bit and a boy with Blue Anime Hair and it came with a little manga-style comic. That’s literally all I remember about this set. I will do my best to look into it more.
LOVE your Nanoblock collection. Is that funny robot giraffe a Horizon Lego? I don’t know anything about those games but that’s just a sick design, love it.
Here are my displays. Most of my figure collection is 10+ years old stuff from when I was a foolish uni student with disposable student loans. Once I filled up these shelves, I almost entirely stopped buying figures because of being out of space and out of disposable income for a long time. But then of course my friend got me into Gunpla a year or so back and I’ve gone hog wild on that since so I bought an entire new Ikea shelf and dedicate half of it to robot display… I actually also upgraded it just yesterday from 2 shelves to now 4 with new glass shelves but I already feel like this additional room isn’t gonna last long with how hog wild I am with buying kits…
holy cow your collection rules; I especially love the Sailor Uranus/Neptune posing at bottom-left, all the Mikus, and how you’ve posed the Zelda Nendoroids together. what are you using to tier the Sailor Moon figures in particular?
