I keep forgetting to post in here. I just want to say that one thing I am pleased to report, and should have ages ago, is that eFootball 24’s best song is also its gayest

(btw shout out to eFootball 22 putting Rina Sawayama’s Comme de Garçons on the soundtrack though I had to give the edge to Deleter by Grouplove for best overall)

I’ve been basically running this on loop all weekend. The cover took a bit to grow on me since the original is so iconic, but this version is great. Once again begging people to see I Saw the TV Glow, it completely blew me away and this song goes crazy in the film.

I’ve come around on black tar. I killed the part of me that cringes and this song is now incredible.

You’d think, given my fondness for Miles Davis’s electric period and my fondness for Birds of Fire that I’d have listened to The Mahavishnu Orchestra’s debut album much earlier than today. But I have not.

(Having said that, if you were to listen to this song and think that it sounds similar to my treatment of Watashi Dake Yuurei, well, it wasn’t accidental because I was listening to plenty of Jean-Luc Ponty’s work with Zappa and some of John McLaughlin’s solo work to prepare for it.)
