yeah dataview is so good that the obsidian team hired the guy who made it to make it eventually be a built in obsidian feature lol

I made a little table of articles I’ve saved that I still need to read in like… three lines. as a certified big ol’ data fan, I’m thrilled LMAO

tried to implement this one on my home page and for some reason it’s not returning anything… any idea why that might be? I’ve edited plenty of notes today :thonk1:

eta: got around it by changing the date(this.file.name) to date(today) but still not sure why that wasn’t working…

hmm is it formatted like this

CleanShot 2024-08-13 at 13.30.52

yep! I took out the Kanban clause since it doesn’t apply to my vault, but otherwise identical.

very weird, only thing i could think of is a plugin conflict, sry

Ever since I started using Neovim for coding at home sometime around last December, I’ve been eyeing the Vim input mode in Obsidian. The issue is that I’d have to manually remap a ton of stuff just to get a semblance of use out of it.

If I do go through with it, there’ll be another post lmao.

Does anyone know if vercel or other digital garden sites create RSS entries for posts made on them?

yep, check under Atom/RSS feed here

I mainly use obsidian for organizing my projects and worldbuilding, as well as the phylogeny of some of my dragons, though I do also use it to keep track of random things, such as documenting my experiences while camping.

i always enjoy showing off what a mess my main graph view is. a lot of these links don’t actually exist, but even when you condense it down to the ones that do it’s bonafide spaghetti out there. who could have foreseen that the webs of history were so complicated to map out

how do i use this thing scare quotes “properly”, help i have no clue

I rarely go into graph mode so this was a jumpscare

there’s no “proper” way to use it tbh, it just depends on what you want and how much you want to engage with it. if you just want the bare minimum i’d look at the getting started here:

that’s pretty much it. after that it’s just a use-case. i use it for pretty much everything that isn’t work, my fiancé uses it to keep track of stuff that i like and date ideas. the world is your oyster.

what do you think you want to use it for? it’ll be easier to help from there

This was my post earlier showing how I use it for tabletop stuff (very basically)
