I’ve had some minis printed for the dungeon I’m running IRL. Picked them up and started painting last night!!!
do yall do like anything special before you start solo ttrpgs? i know there isn’t a ~right~ way to do it but…whats the right way to do it so i can start instead of watching my potential self from the multiverse sidelines
It depends on the rpg in question, I suppose? The few I’ve played had specific directions about “get a blank journal”. You can get a blank notebook to use for it specifically, or else just open a blank word/google doc. I’ve played some really really nice stories out via gdoc.
Tl;dr - ultimately it’s the content of play that makes a solo game fun and special, but if you Want to make a special container for it, have fun
Best of 2024 TTRPG Bundle going on over on itch with almost all the raised funds going to the Trans Empowerment Project
Session Zero is done and I’ve started Prep for Session 1 of Road to Limina. I’m excited to bring my old Robins Crew through this moody and decaying holy land of Aldema as their characters try to make their way to the Holy Capital of Limina.
We are making a playlist of “Sepia Music”
Limina looks so cool. I tried to recruit Brock to Auldnoir before cohost bit it but sadly no dice.
Yeah he’s pretty picky about where he hangs out.
I don’t take offense to this at all
Remember, I’m the bird in hand
I’d like to also be the bird in the hand. how much is two birds in the hand worth?
two birds make for a very good lunch
Sitting here reading The Mercy of Gods and thinking about how fun it would be to run a scifi Fabula Ultima game for my friends instead of getting sleep for that shift that stats in five hours. Did I mention I haven’t even gotten everyone’s characters made for that Shinobigami oneshot yet?
Me: This is a single combat before a Full Repair, so I can push the players a little harder so they learn to focus on the objective instead of trying to fight every enemy. As long as they do that, they’ll clear the mission in no time and with minimal damage :)
7 Rounds later:
They learned the hard way
my players are exceptional and I love them, but this was a very amusing moment of “oh, I’m going to have to take the kid’s gloves off for this one”
this is not a correction so much as a fun fact I hope you will enjoy, but it’s actually ‘kid gloves’ (as in baby goats); gloves made from the leather of kids were often used to handle fragile or delicate objects due to its softness, so removing the kid gloves implies you’re about to get rough. :D
oh my god, I thought it was “kid’s gloves” as in “I’m going to hit them as an adult now” lmao
Treating my Pathfinder game like a backdoor demo for other systems. Mission after this one I’m designing like a Technoir mystery.
trying to drum up some interest for an Apawthecaria multiplayer game, if that sounds like fun to you and you’d be willing to join a discord server w potentially some people you don’t know maybe hmu?
ETA: this offer does not have a max number of respondents btw! the more the merrier :)
EDIT 2: ok so I think I’ve managed to scrounge up about three people so far. I can run this with any number so three (plus myself) would be totally fine - this is just to say that I am definitely going to go ahead with it, so if you’re even on the fence/interested in giving it a try, PLSSSS let me know! I promise it’ll be fun and extremely low pressure :D
