Yes or No might be one of the greatest episodes of television I’ve ever seen

I feel like I have been activated like a sleeper agent by mention of Malcolm in the Middle and have hard pivoted
Definitely one of my favorite shows growing up

It’s so good dude. Brennan is such a good target for that shit.

so we finished Clone Wars. woof. went on to watch The Mandalorian. it’s p good but the slower pace means I’m having trouble staying interested.

in anime news, I finally convinced my fiancée to watch .hack//SIGN with me. haven’t seen this show in about 15 years. it’s good still, actually. even if you aren’t into .hack or wanting to get into .hack, I think if you liked turn of the millennium weird cyber-world shit (like Digimon or Lain) you’d probably enjoy SIGN just as a standalone anime.

I started watching Chainsaw man recently. Before this, i only read the first chapter. Its got an interesting cast that makes me think “all of these folks are notably flawed creatures” I’d compare it to always sunny, but some of these folks are relatable, but their interactions are funny.

From cultural osmosis, i know that Makima is like a manipulator, but idk what it is she wants to use people for. Is that just her fetish or w/e?

There’s deeper reasons, but the clear cut is that Makima is a person in a position of power that she wishes to maintain - if not improve.

god i love chainsaw man. i read the manga before watching the anime and it basically went like:

first 3/4s of the run: idk if i really “get” this but i’m gonna keep reading cause it’s interesting and funny
last 1/4 of the run: abruptly this is one of my favourite manga of all time

the show’s OP is a treat. was stuck in my head for about 3 weeks after i finished watching.

Fun fact that guy used to be a vocaloid artist, he did that one song with her in the desert and then covered it himself lmao

oh shit fr? you learn something new every day

eta: wtf he also did matryoshka?? man’s a genius

Wife and I started watching Ripley which has been pretty good! I’m not familiar with the source material but some folks who are also seem to like it.

I’ve also been making my way through Apothecary Diaries which is fantastic. Also checking out some seasonals: Girls Band Cry, Train to the End of the World, and The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio are the main ones I’m enjoying so far.

I saw the spy x family movie and it sure is a shonen jump non-canon gaiden movie with everything that implies

on the bio broly to fusion reborn scale i rate it at about cooler’s revenge

Boy, the “made for TV” stuff at the start of Dragon Ball Super is rough. They didn’t want to just chop the movies into 3 episodes, they had to turn one into a dozen friggin episodes.

Started part 4 of Jojo’s yesterday. The slight shift in art style is taking me a bit to get used to. Fun so far. Josuke is a goof.

Part 4 is my favorite by a mile, I love that shit

assuming i keep up with the let’s play we will one day get to josuke mode which is simultaneously kind of impressive and totally not…

part 4 is peak and that first OP is an all-timer

Saw Spider-Man 2 in the theater, fucking perfect movie. Glad the screening wasn’t filled with annoying memelords like some people’s showings of Spider-Man 1 apparently were. Good capper to a kinda depressing birthday.
