What's cooking? (Food thread)

made aloo gobi today, a potato/cauliflower curry. it’s a bit of a chore to make but the result is always worth the time.

Deeply jealous of being able to make homemade pre-prepped chicken katsu. Lord. It’s great when a Kitchen Gadget wildly upgrades your food abilities.

yesterday’s burger which served as dinner: the Red Robin “Southern Charm” (my dad apparently got this on a whim instead of our usual order when we go). pretty good! very filling as you’d expect–and surprisingly the weakest point probably was not the bacon, which is often hit and miss on burgers and which i generally do not like on burgers for that reason. i will have to consider this as my order the next time we go there

Oh dang I should have posted a pic of the pizzas I made yesterday.

Not my best, but a pretty good red lentil curry!

BRO this stupid country only offers sweet yellow corn I MISS THAT GOOD GOOD WHITE AND BLUE SHIT GIMME THAT ESQUITES AND ELOTES AND POZOLE (but I probably can’t actually eat Pozole much now that Tomatoes are bad for me)

ohhh that looks so good

I don’t use tomato for pozole actually! I follow how my mom makes it, which is more or less similar to this recipe (I do use a lot of chiles though. so maybe it’s still not good if acidity is affecting you sjdf;sj )

It tastes great qwqb even if i did had to start over on the base because I accidentally put in too much oregano orz

:tada: Mely is one of my go-tos also! And yeah usually when I have pozole it doesn’t have tomatoes either, like Minty said I think it’s just a difference of style and preference

That bowl looks so good and it’s actually rainy today, great pozole weather……HMMMM

I’d be willing to try! Tomatoes seem to be the thing that triggers my gout more than anything besides alcohol and I’ve had other acidic food without as much of an issue. Good recipe!

Made fried rice for lunch today, on my wfh day. It is…nice, to be able to cook something for lunch. Don’t always get to do it

It’s got me thinking about changing the way we buy groceries maybe, re: what gets bought per week vs what is bought en masse as a staple. But also we won’t always have 4 people/bodies in this house at a time, so.

It’s excellent, and absolutely worth the hour and a half spent standing in the kitchen watching a pot boil. (half an hour faster than last time!)
